Carson City sheriff’s crime log: Weekend arrests made for DUI, battery and disorderly conduct

A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for felony suspicion of heroin possession and other charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Joshua Raymond Lee Krepps also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a working license plate lamp. Also arrested was Julian Larosa, 26, of Virginia City for felony warrants out of Walker River Township Court.

According to the arrest report, deputies made a traffic stop for a license plate that didn’t have a functioning light. A records checks were done on both men, where it was learned Larosa had the warrants. A canine did an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive.

Inside the vehicle on the driver’s left hand side deputies found a tourniquet and metal tin with burnt residue. Inside the man’s pockets officers located a balloon with burnt residue inside. Inside the jacket of Krepps was 15 small multicolored balloons that contained 3.1 grams of heroin, the arrest report states. Bail for Krepps, $3,749.

— A 30-year-old Silver Springs man was arrested Friday, 2:11 p.m. in the area of Roop and Winnie streets for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery and possession of stolen property.

According to the arrest report, witnesses stated they saw the man push a woman into a fence on Winnie Street. Both the male and female denied there was a physical altercation. Inside the man’s backpack was jail issued black and white pants. He had been released from jail Oct. 26 and was not given any jail issued clothing at the time of release. Bail: $3,774.

— A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 2:50 a.m. for being an ex-felon failing to notify of an address change. Bail: $242.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:08 a.m. in the area of East Telegraph and North Pratt for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and basic speeding. According to the arrest report, the vehicle was stopped for speeding, going 45 mph in a 25 mph zone in a residential area.

During the stop the deputy could smell an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath and asked if he had been drinking. The man stated no and become argumentative. He was asked to step out of the vehicle, and again was asked if he had been drinking.

The man stated he had not, but then quickly replied he had two beers prior. He refused to provide field tests but agreed to a preliminary breath test which resulted in .101, the arrest report states. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he was read a request for voluntary evidence in which he refused and requested a warrant. A judge approved a telephonic warrant for a blood draw. Bail: $1,229.

— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 1:54 p.m. in the area of West Ann and North Curry streets for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report the woman was intoxicated and attempted to leave the location in here vehicle.

The victim grabbed the woman’s purse so she could not get her keys to drive. The woman threw a drink on the man, and then hit him in the back and stomach. When a person attempted to intervene the woman allegedly grabbed him by the neck and placed him in a choke hold at which time 911 was called. All statements from the victim and three witnesses collaborated what happened. The woman blew a .087 and was arrested. Bail: $3,173.

— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 2:47 p.m. in the area of Allouette Way and Second Street for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, the woman was screaming and yelling profanities at people. When officers arrived the woman was throwing rocks at an apartment building. She provided a preliminary breath test of .146. Bail: $242.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:15 p.m. for suspicion of DUI second offense and driving on a suspended license. $3,274.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:02 p.m. in the 2700 block of Menlo Drive for gross misdemeanor suspicion of battery of a police officer and misdemeanor interference with a fireman. Bail: $2,907.

— A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday, 2:11 p.m. in the area of North Saliman and Seely Loop for two counts hit and run of an unoccupied vehicle anded DUI.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called after a citizen observed a Dodge truck hitting a two parked vehicles and leaving the scene.

The Dodge truck then crashed at the intersection of Saliman and Robinson causing the vehicle to overturn. Damage was also done to landscaping at Carson High School.

The intoxicated driver stated he was drunk but willing to participate in field sobriety tests. He showed 8 signs of impairment and provided a preliminary breath test of .274. At jail he provided evidentiary samples of .225 and .222. Bail: $2,411.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 6:55 p.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. The intoxicated man was stopped by a mounted police officer after attempting to fight with another man. He blew a .29 preliminary breath test, flipped off officers and told them “f*** you,” the arrest report states. Bail: $242.

— A 23-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday, 6:12 p.m. in the 400 block of North Curry Street for misdemeanor warrants of failure to obey a citation and failure to appear. Bail: $685.

— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 8:57 p.m. in the area of Goni and College Parkway for two misdemeanor violation of bail conditions warrants. Bail: $6,000.

— A 19-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Saturday, 11:35 p.m. in the 3000 block of Cortez Street for misdemeanor obstructing an officer and minor consuming/possessing alcohol.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a large party at a residence. As a deputy approached the door he could observe a fight in the front room. The 19-year-old suspect closed and locked the door in an attempt to prevent the deputy from entering the home.

The fight was over within a few seconds and all subjects fled the home, running in different directions.

A deputy located three of the subjects, including the victim of a battery. He did not wish to press charges. Another subject, the 19-year-old who shut the door, submitted to a preliminary breath test with a .081. He was arrested of obstructing and minor consuming. Bail: $644.

— A 55-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 12:58 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of battery.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a bar at 10:49 p.m. following an altercation in which a pint glass was thrown at the bartender, hitting him in the head and causing a laceration.

Deputies arrived and the two subjects involved, a man and woman, were identified. Witnesses told officers the woman threw the glass that hit the bartender.

Later, the man called dispatch and advised he had thrown the glass and wished to turn himself in.

After questioning both, the woman advised that she threw the glass but did not intend to hurt the bartender. She was arrested for suspicion of battery Bail: $1,137.

— A 23-year-old Minden man was arrested Sunday, 1:32 a.m. at a bar in the 300 block of North Carson Street for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the bar where a man was in a planter. The man was highly intoxicated, unable to tell officers where he lived. He provided a preliminary breath test of .247. Dispatch advised he had a confirmed misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $1,000.

— A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 1:50 a.m. in the 2400 block of Table Rock Drive for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued Sept. 20, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $750.

— A 55-year-old transient was arrested Sunday, 4:59 a.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Brown street for a misdemeanor violation of pre-trial warrant, driving without lights and without a valid driver’s license. Bail: $3,264.
