Nevada Highway Patrol Stepping Up Enforcement For UNR Wolf Pack Versus Boise State Broncos Game
This Saturday, October 13th, the Nevada Wolf Pack will take on the Boise State Broncos at Mackay Stadium at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Recently, Nevada Highway Patrol Colonel John O'Rourke and Idaho State Police Colonel Kedrick Wills completed a Public Service Announcement reminding all motorists and football fans to have a great time, but remember to always have a sober, designated driver.
Impairment plays a part in many of our highway traffic fatalities each and every year. Together, the Idaho State Police and the Nevada Highway Patrol are working to ensure that there are no empty seats at the stadium due to traffic fatalities.
During the days leading up to the game, the Nevada Highway Patrol will be stepping up enforcement efforts throughout the state.
Motorists will see a noticeable increase in State Troopers on the primary and secondary highways across The Silver State, particularly along Interstate 80 and the US-95 Safety Corridor from Winnemucca to the Oregon border.
While we want spectators to enjoy the game at Mackay Stadium, we want to ensure that those traveling make it to and from the destination safely.
Troopers will be aggressively targeting moving violations as well as removing impaired drivers from our highways.
We want to remind motorists to always buckle up, put down any distractions, obey the speed limits and be mindful of changing road and weather conditions.
Drive Safe, Nevada and Go Pack!
