Vandals hit Northridge area with eggs, including 2 vehicles belonging to Carson City sheriff
Vandals struck the Northridge area sometime on Saturday night throwing eggs at vehicles, including two belonging to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
The sheriff said he didn't report the incident to dispatch because he didn't discover the damage until later but learned that many vehicles in his neighborhood were egged.
"I was told the whole area got hit with eggs," said Furlong.
Two of Furlong's vehicles, his Ford F-150 patrol truck and his 2010 Ford Mustang, were egged. The egg dried overnight, causing the paint to crack on the vehicles.
"The crack of egg on impact will crack paint," he said, "and if I had cracked paint, I'm sure other vehicles have cracked paint."
He advises anyone who had damage from eggs to their vehicles — and if they have video cameras outside their homes — to review video from Saturday night into Sunday morning. If they see the culprits, they should contact the sheriff's office.
"We've solved an awful lot of crimes this way, so, if you have a camera outside your home and if so prompted, you might have captured it," he said.
If anyone has information about the vandalism or has video of the culprits, they should call 887-COPS.
