National Weather Service: Chance of rain possible in Carson City by Monday night
Carson City could see some precipitation in the form of rain showers Monday night into Tuesday with cooler daytime temperatures through most of next week, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno said.
Sunday is forecast to be a pleasant 72 degrees and sunny as September comes to a close, while Monday, the first day of October, is expected to peak at about 74 degrees before a cooler moisture front moves into the area.
There is a 30 percent chance of rain showers late Monday night into Tuesday, the NWS reported as of Saturday night, increasing to 40-50 percent through Wednesday.
Daytime temperatures in Carson City beginning Tuesday are forecast to remain in the 60s through at least next Saturday, the NWS said.
Precipitation is expected to move out of the area by Thursday, the NWS said, though there is a chance for a slider type snow shower event in the Sierra above 7,000 feet. Otherwise after that, sunny but cooler skies are lining up to start the next weekend.
