Carson City area weather: Goodbye heat? High temperatures in the low 80s for the week
Near average temperatures are expected for the week ahead around Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas with sunny days and typical afternoon breezes, according to the National Weather Service.
These seasonable conditions will bring temperatures down some, however there will be periods of smoke and haze, especially around Wednesday, due to ongoing fires in California and Nevada.
Daytime temperatures around the Carson City region will be in the low 80s, with night time lows in the mid to upper 40s.
Overall, temperatures will remain near seasonal averages although some lows could be quite chilly. A few below freezing readings are likely in the Sierra, according to the weather service. Meanwhile, winds will be typical afternoon breezes gusting to 20-25 mph.
There could be an increase in winds late Saturday or Sunday with an approaching trough, but they do not look exceptional, according to the weather service.
