Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man arrested after found sleeping in middle of roadway

A 28 year-old Carson City man was taken into custody Saturday morning at 7:21 a.m. in the area of South Carson and Sixth streets after he was found sleeping in the middle of the roadway, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the area on an initial report of a male subject walking down the middle of Carson Street, messing with road signs and had nearly been hit by a vehicle.

Law enforcement was unable to locate the subject at first, but a reporting party (RP) called Carson City Dispatch, stating a male subject was passed out in the middle of Sixth Street, just east of South Carson Street, the report said.

When the deputy arrived, the subject was observed to be sleeping in the roadway. He was finally awakened after several attempts by the deputy, and he appeared highly intoxicated.

The subject was speaking non-sensical while waking up, the report said, then he became very agitated toward and uncooperative with law enforcement. He continued to be uncooperative with the deputy, who was trying to make several attempts to get the subject to move to a safe location.

The subject reportedly grew more agitated and was getting out of control when the deputy detained him in handcuffs and placed under arrest for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and drunken pedestrian, the report said.

He was transported to the Carson City Jail without further incident for booking. Bail: $150.

In other arrests:

— A 34 year-old Turlock, CA, man was arrested late Friday night at 11:48 p.m. in the area of William and Stewart streets for misdemeanor first-offense driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was made on a gold sedan that was observed failing to maintain travel lanes. Contact was made with the driver, who displayed red, watery eyes and exhibited slurred speech.

An odor of alcohol was smelled coming from inside of the vehicle, the report said. When asked how much he had drank, the suspect stated he had consumed two beers at Lake Tahoe.

The suspect consented to field sobriety testing (FST), which showed signs of impairment, as well as to a preliminary breath test (PBT), which yielded breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .109 percent.

He was handcuffed at that point and taken into custody, transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,000.

— A 42 year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday evening at 6:35 p.m. in the area of Market Street and Retail Drive for misdemeanor obstruction and a felony parole violation, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Ginnie Heidt was taken into custody after law enforcement responded to the area on report of a woman dancing on the parking pole at the Market Street and Retail Drive intersection.

Upon arrival, a Sheriff's deputy made contact with Heidt, who appeared extremely intoxicated and was observed to be unsteady on her feet. She also exhibited red, watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath.

Heidt had refused to give her name or show any identification to the responding deputy, the report said, and began walking away from the scene, stating she was going home.

The deputy had told Heidt she was too drunk to walk home safely and asked for her name again, but she continued to walk away. The deputy grabbed her by the arm at that point and attempted to place her in handcuffs, but Heidt tried to pull away. She was assisted to the ground by law enforcement and detained. Her identification was located on her person.

A records check through Carson City Dispatched confirmed Heidt was active in the Nevada Parole and Probation system. When contacted, parole and probation requested Heidt's arrest, the report said.

Heidt remained uncooperative with deputies, though, refusing to provide a PBT. She also refused to get into the back of a parol vehicle at first.

She finally complied and was transported to the Carson City Jail, where she then was uncooperative with the booking process and placed in a security cell. No bail.

— A Carson City woman was arrested Friday morning at 9:40 a.m. at the Carson City Jail after she had been transported from the Washoe County Jail on a confirmed active misdemeanor bench warrant for contempt issued out of the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

The contempt of court warrant had been issued after the suspect had failed to appear in court, the report said. She was booked into the jail on $3,000 bail.

— A 44 year-old Reno woman was arrested Friday morning at 9:40 a.m. at the Carson City after she had been transported there on a confirmed outstanding misdemeanor contempt warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

The contempt of court warrant had been issued for failing to report to jail and complete 50 days, the report said. She was booked into the jail on $500 bail.

All information for the crime log (unless otherwise noted) comes from the arrest reports supplied by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, and is considered by law to be public information. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The policy of Carson Now is to name anyone who is arrested for a felony offense.
