Carson City man arrested for DUI, destruction of property and leaving the scene of an accident
A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2400 block of Silver Sage Drive early Saturday morning on five charges including DUI second and leaving the scene of an accident.
The man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the location on report of an accident with unknown injuries. Dispatch advised the vehicle left the scene after knowing down a resident’s fence.
Deputies turned onto Silver Sage from Stafford and noticed a truck which was “shaking side to side,” according to the report.
The vehicle was unable to maintain its travel lane and when deputies attempted a traffic stop the vehicle drove up on a curb.
Deputies made contact with the driver and immediately noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He also had red, watery eyes and slurred speech.
The man told deputies he was coming from downtown, and he said he “might have had too much” to drink.
Deputies conducted a field sobriety test for which the man showed several signs of impairment. He volunteered a PBT sample which yielded in a .302 percent PBT.
He was arrested for running down the fence as well as an AT&T electrical power box.
He was taken into custody without issue.
The man was booked on the following:
DUI second, failure to maintain lane, leaving the scene of an accident, and two counts of destruction of property.
Bail: $4,498
