“Last year marked the return of The Way It Was Rodeo after a 20-year hiatus. This year, we’re building on that momentum by adding in a few new offerings which will enhance the event’s authentic, up close and personal experience,” said Deny Dotson, tourism director for the Virginia City Tourism Commission.
The new Cowgirl Saloon Crawl, set for Saturday, Aug. 19, includes a free general admission rodeo ticket for designated drivers. Crawlers will enjoy a variety of themed specialty beverages that only the great saloons of Virginia City can pour while receiving discounts on full versions. In addition to the complementary rodeo ticket, designated drivers for the saloon crawl, called our “Rodeo Clowns,” receive free soda drinks and event swag items.
The Way It Was Rodeo takes place Saturday, Aug. 19 and Sunday, Aug. 20 from 1 – 3 p.m. each day. Tickets are $18 per person, $22 for premium reserved seating and $60 for VIP seating Saturday or $50 for Sunday. Cowgirl Saloon Crawl cups are $15 per person and valid for Saturday only.
