Storybook ending: Aces’ Cody Decker homers, hangs it up
“If I was writing a movie, that’s the way I would want to end it.”
In his 3,367th and final at bat, Cody Decker lifted a hanging slider over the left-center field scoreboard to give the Reno Aces a 10-9 win on July 5.
Three days later, the 32-year-old first baseman will announce his retirement in a press conference in El Paso, Texas
His walk-off blast in the bottom of the ninth inning against Sacramento tied the bow on an 11-year career full of laughs, home runs and his signature “arm explosions” with 13 different professional baseball clubs.
