Nevada State Railroad Museum kicks off Fourth of July celebration in Carson City
The Nevada State Railroad Museum kicked off the Fourth of July festivities in a big way Saturday in Carson City.
Two of the museum’s iconic steam locomotives — the narrow-gauge Glenbook and the standard-gauge Inyo, both built in 1875 — chugged their way around the property’s railroad tracks.
Participants had a chance to board several locomotives as well, making a fun-filled ride for the dozens in attendance.
Burgers and hotdogs grilled to perfection by the Volunteer Carson City Fire Department were on sale throughout the event.
The rides will conclude at 4 p.m. Saturday, but the museum and train rides are open all weekend long. Wristband prices are $15 for adults, $10 for members, $9 ages 12-17 and $5 for children 4-11.
For more information, call the museum at 775-687-6953, extension 224.
