A vehicle vs motorcycle accident was reported just after 6:30 p.m. near Woodside and Fairview Friday afternoon.

The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and walking around but was “hit pretty hard” according to those on scene.

CARSON CITY, NV – Finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) show initial claims for unemployment insurance totaled 15,607 for the week ending May 23, down 2,230 claims, or 12.5 percent compared to last week’s total of 17,837.

There was a stabbing of a male offender this morning at Warm Springs Correctional Center. Carson City emergency services was contacted via 911 and responded to WSCC at 9:40 am. A medical helicopter arrived, and left at 10:10 a.m. to transport the offender to a local hospital to receive medical care. WSCC's warden was notified by telephone. The incident is under investigation.

Lyon County is working to reopen County Offices, except courts, by June 8, 2020. Lyon County Facilities staff and contractors are installing personal protective equipment and barriers throughout County offices to meet this goal.
