Carson City's Greenhouse Project breaks ground Tuesday on new classroom, event to be Livestreamed
Carson City’s The Greenhouse Project will be hosting a virtual groundbreaking for their new outdoor classroom in order to provide year-round learning to both Carson High School students and community members alike.
The Greenhouse Project and Carson High School recently announced a grant provided by the William N. Pennington Foundation for $25,000 that will be used in addition to over $72,000 raised through fundraising efforts to build a community classroom at The Greenhouse Project’s main site location at Carson High School.
The classroom will allow for year-round learning, not only for Carson High Schools students, but for community learners as well. Monthly classes are held by the Greenhouse Project’s site manager and garden educator Cory King, which are free to the community and teach on a range of topics.
The groundbreaking will take place Tuesday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at the main site at Carson High School. Those interested can watch a livestream of the event on the Greenhouse Project’s facebook page located here.
The Greenhouse Project is always accepting volunteers. You can learn more about the project and volunteer opportunities by visiting https://www.carsoncitygreenhouse.org
