CASI offers spay and neuter vouchers for low-income Carson City pet owners
The Carson Animal Services Initiative is making low-cost spay and neuter vouchers available to low-income pet owners in the Carson City area.
The vouchers can be used at participating veterinarian offices. This will allow low-income pet owners to have a cat fixed for only $25 and a dog for only $50. While they get their pets spayed or neutered, owners can also get their pets vaccinated for rabies if they aren’t already vaccinated.
To be eligible for the Critter Fixer program, low-income pet owner must live within a zip code area that starts with 897.
Pet owners qualify for the program if they participate in any of the following programs: NV Checkup, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, SNAP/Quest card, Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), their child’s participation in a free or low cost school lunch program, or receiving Unemployment Insurance benefits.
If none of these apply, they need only show that their monthly income is below $1,485.
