Lyon County responds to Governor's 'Roadmap to Recovery'
Lyon County officials have reviewed the Nevada United Roadmap to Recovery plan as introduced by the Governor on April 30, 2020. The Governor’s Office provided Lyon County with a questionnaire to determine the County’s ability to enter Phase 1 of the plan.
The questionnaire addresses the County’s ability to provide data for the past 14 days, monitor and report on COVID-19 hospitalizations, procure and distribute personal protective equipment to first responders and healthcare workers and conduct testing and contact tracing.
Lyon County, in partnership with the Quad County Emergency Operations Center, will provide the Governor’s Office with the information requested and explain the Quad County partnership, processes and procedures.
The Lyon County Board of Commissioners may take action on May 7, 2020 on implementing a plan to address entering phase 1. The action item reads:
Time Certain at 9:30 A.M: For Possible Action: Update on Lyon County's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and discussion on Lyon County's recovery plan in a safe and reliable manner consistent with CDC guidelines and the directives of Governor Sisolak. Possible action may include drafting a resolution, submitting a letter to Governor Sisolak to reconsider his Declaration of Emergency and directives as it may apply to Lyon County, or other actions that will address the financial and public safety impact of Governor Sisolak's Declaration of Emergency on the citizens of Lyon County.
Lyon County officials will be working, in coordination with our Quad County partners and County stakeholders, to complete a plan to expeditiously move Lyon County forward in reopening businesses in compliance with the Governor’s Emergency Directives.
