In other arrests:
— A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the area of Long Street and Saliman Road late Friday night for DUI first, driving with an open container, and careless driving, a sheriff's deputy said.
Deputies were patrolling in the area when they noticed a vehicle traveling westbound on Long Street driving erratically at a high rate of speed.
According to the report, the vehicle traveled into the eastbound lane, driving the wrong way, which caused the deputy to slam on their brakes and swerve to avoid colliding with them. They then hit two speed bumps in the road at the intersection of Long Street and Rand without braking, causing the vehicle to bottom out and almost go airborne.
Deputies stopped the vehicle. As deputies approached, the vehicle began to roll forward. The driver then hit neutral and the engine revved.
As deputies approached the vehicle, they noticed the driver lighting a cigarette, and there was loud music blaring from inside the vehicle.
The woman identified herself, and deputies noted she had red watery eyes, and her speech was extremely slurred. She told deputies she had consumed two shots of whiskey about 30 minutes before deputies made contact with her.
She submitted to a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .29 percent BAC, and she was taken into custody.
While taking inventory of the vehicle, deputies located three shot-sized bottles of alcohol, one in the center console, one under the driver’s seat, and one on the floorboards behind the driver’s seat. Bail: $1,571.
Warrants:
— A 25-year-old Carson City man already in custody was additionally charged with a Carson City Justice Court warrant for probation violation, and a warrant out of Hawthorn Township for contempt of court. Bail: $4,640.
