Carson City inmate booked for mail theft, burglary found hiding suspected meth in body cavity

A California man in Carson City jail custody for suspected felony burglary, drug possession and 23 counts of mail theft, was booked Wednesday for suspicion of trafficking methamphetamine, admitting that he had hid drugs in a body cavity, according to a sheriff's office booking report.
Ryan Mitchell Pritchett was booked on the latest charge at 1:17 p.m. after jail deputies were alerted by an inmate, who remained anonymous, that he overheard Pritchett had a large amount of methamphetamine on him. Pritchett was jailed early Monday following investigations that led to his arrest for suspicion of burglary, mailbox theft and drug possession.
The anonymous inmate described Pritchett as having a bird tattoo over his eye and had recently been arrested. Other inmates, he said, were attempting to have Pritchett, who was in possession of methamphetamine, "kick some down," the arrest report states.
Deputies identified the person as Pritchett, who was scheduled to be seen in court at 1:30 p.m. for his current charges. He was escorted to the booking search room, where a deputy instructed him to enter the shower stall and explained to him that he had enough information to conduct an unclothed search of his person, the booking report states.
The jail deputy told Pritchett that if he had anything on him that would be discovered during the search, it would be good to tell him now. Pritchett said he did. For safety reason, the officer asked where it was located. Pritchett said it was located in a body cavity.
Pritchett said he could retrieve it and then pulled out two items wrapped in toilet paper from his body cavity. He told the deputy that officers would have found it during the initial search. He stated the following "that is the sh*t you guys missed when you searched me," the arrest report states.
Officers booked the drugs and items into evidence, which weighted a total of 30.5 grams. The deputy opened the smaller of the two packages wrapped in toilet paper and plastic from a jail issued toothbrush and a ramen wrapper. Inside the wrapper was the suspected methamphetamine.
Pritchett, 28, of Martinez Calif., was jailed Monday, along with Vanessa Nicole Martinez, 26. The pair face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to suspected burglary, drug possession and mail theft. Bail amount for the latest charge: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 30-year-old Sparks man, Tyler Mitchell Woolley, was arrested Wednesday for being an ex-felony in possession of a firearm and suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, (both felonies) gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous prescription drug without a prescription and four misdemeanor offenses: possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license, fictitious license plates, and no vehicle insurance.
According to the booking report, a deputy observed the driver making several maneuvers, to avoid the officer. When the officer activated his red and blue lights, the driver then drove through a parking lot and failed to stop. Eventually he did stop, and the officer approached the vehicle, and immediately observed small clear bag on the top center console of the vehicle. Due to the totality of the circumstances, the man asked asked to exit the vehicle, where he was detained.
During the investigation, the officer read him his Miranda rights, in which the suspect said he understood and consented to a search of his person. Officers located a hypodermic device, prescription pills that he did not have a prescription for. He was placed under arrest for driving with a revoked license, the traffic violations and being in possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription. Officers later learned the Oregon license plates on the vehicle he was driving did not belong on the vehicle that was pulled over, the report states.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, officers located a rolled dollar bill with suspected cocaine in a cup holder, multiple clear baggies inside the center console, and a hyperemic needle inside a console under the radio. Underneath the center console was a loaded handgun. Woolley is an ex-felon and is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm, the arrest report states. Bail: $20,000.
— An Elko couple, Shane Irvin and Todessa Lessard, were arrested Wednesday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team for suspicion of multiple felony offenses including child endangerment and neglect, drug possession and other offenses.
According to the booking report, Irvin is suspected of using or attempting to smoke heroin with his two small children sleeping in the backseat of the vehicle. Lessard, who was inside a casino at the time, was discovered later during the investigation of holding suspected heroin and methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia. She was also in possession of a stun gun. Because she was a convicted felony and had served time in prison, she was prohibited from possession the weapon.
She was booked for two counts child endangerment/neglect, three counts possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon (stun gun) by a prohibited person.
Irvin was booked for suspicion of two counts child endangerment/neglect, use of a controlled substance in the presence of a child, possession of heroin, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The children were placed into Child Protective Services custody and were to be evaluated at the hospital for possible physical exposure to heroin or other drugs. Bail amounts for the suspects were listed, the highest amounts being $40,000 for each child endangerment count, in which there were four.
