Girl Scout troops around Northern Nevada to begin selling cookies at booths beginning Friday
Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada’s 2017 cookie program is officially underway. Girl Scout troops will host their cookie booths in front of retail shops and grocery stores from Friday, March 3 to April 2, 2017.
Where to Buy Cookies
There are several ways to satisfy your Girl Scout Cookie craving. Cookie customers can find their nearest cookie booth by typing their ZIP code into the Girl Scout Cookie Finder link at: girlscouts.org/cookies; or by downloading the free Cookie Finder mobile app for their iOS or Android phone or tablet.
Cookie Varieties
The 2017 cookie program marks the 100th year of the first known sale of Girl Scout cookies. To celebrate, GSSN has introduced a commemorative Girl Scout cookie, the S’mores™ cookie. The delicious s’mores-inspired crispy graham cookie is double-dipped in a crème icing and covered in a chocolate coating. Also included in the tasty 2017 cookie line-up are Gluten-Free Trios, Thanks-A-Lots, Shortbreads, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, and of course, the famous Thin Mints.
When you buy Girl Scout cookies, you’re doing your part to help Girl Scouts make our community a better place as they prepare for a more successful future. The Girl Scout Cookie Program helps girls learn five skills that are essential to leadership and success, including goal setting, money management, people skills, business ethics, and decision making.
Girl Scout cookies cost $5 per package and 100% of the proceeds from the cookie program stay local. Girls decide how to spend their troop cookie money to create learning experiences, take part in travel opportunities, and invest in their neighborhoods through community service projects.
Cookie Share Program
For those who want to support Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada build girls of courage, confidence and character but don’t want to derail their New Year’s resolution, Girl Scouts has a win-win solution. Customers can purchase cookies to be donated to local organizations in our community. During last year’s cookie program, 18,396 boxes of cookies were donated through the Cookie Share Program to incredible organizations including the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Children’s Cabinet, and Blue Star Moms of Nevada. Your cookie donation is sure to brighten someone’s day!
All girls in grades K-12 can still join Girl Scouts, making them eligible to earn badges, attend summer camp, join Girl Scout community events, participate in travel opportunities, and more. Girl Scout registration information can be found at: girlscouts.org/join.
