Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Four busted for felony drug sales, trafficking

Four were arrested Friday night in the area of N. Division and W. Park streets, each for suspicion of multiple felony drug violations, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including Level III Trafficking, possession and possession with intent to sell.

Linsey Ann Hammers, 30; Donald Ray McNeil II, 50; Christina Marie Klos, 27; and 46 year-old Timothy James Bohannan, all of Carson City, were taken into custody at 7:23 p.m. after sheriff's officers with the Special Enforcement Team (SET) stopped the white sedan they were occupying for a traffic violation.

Other SET members were conducting surveillance on a residential complex in the 200 block of West Caroline Street, an area known by officers for drug use and sales.

Two subjects, Hammers and Bohannan, had been surveilled for selling methamphetamine out of a room in the complex and were observed getting into the white sedan, the arrest report said. The sedan had been stopped because it failed to make a complete stop at a posted stop sign.

Once stopped, deputies made contact with the vehicle occupants, including driver McNeil.

All subjects in the vehicle provided identification when asked. Each was run through Carson City Dispatch for wants and warrants.

Klos had two confirmed misdemeanor arrest warrants for contempt of court issued by the Carson City Justice Court, the report said. She was promptly handcuffed along with Bohannan, both of whom were the drug sale suspects under surveillance.

A K-9 exterior sniff resulted in a positive alert and an interior search of the vehicle was performed.

During the pat-down process for weapons, a knife with meth residue on it was found on Bohannan along with two baggies of meth and one baggie of cocaine hidden inside an Altoids tin, the report said.

Two baggies were labeled with weights. Total amount of meth on Bohannan was 29 grams along with 0.6 grams of cocaine.

During the vehicle search, a black case under the front passenger seat where Klos had been sitting contained four grams of meth, meth pipes, baggies and a scale, the report said.

All four subjects were Mirandized and waived their rights.

Bohannan admitted to using meth. He said the group was headed to dinner at a casino, but the vehicle was noted by officers to be traveling in the opposite direction of said destination, the report said.

Klos admitted to buying meth from Bohannan at least twice a week. She also said McNeil had given her the black case containing meth and told her to throw it under the front passenger seat, the report said.

Hammers stated that Bohannan and McNeil traveled to Reno about every other day to buy meth and brought it back to Carson City to sell.

She further said the drugs were then cut into small quantities for her to sell, the report said.

Hammers consented for officers to search her cell phone, which contained texts indicating she had sold to at least four different people over the past seven days. Hammers admitted to selling the drugs with Bohannan regularly, the report said.

All four subjects appeared to have knowledge of the drugs in the vehicle, and all four were determined to have dominion and control over the substances found in various weights and packaging, the report said.

SET determined that McNeil, Bohannan and Hammers were each actively involved in drug sales. Douglas County SET later informed Carson City SET that they had completed controlled purchases of meth with both McNeil and Klos, the report said.

A search warrant was issued for the West Caroline residence under surveillance. Inside were found a collection of about 600 plastic baggies, black cases various paraphernalia, two pay-and-owe sheets, a knife with drug residue on it, multiple scales, several meth pipes, methamphetamine substance, a hydrocodone prescription pill, methadone bottle, tooter straw, and a book containing a note about sales: "Babe, so I went to sell a ball for $75 and a $10 sack for you!"

The note was signed by Hammers, whose name was also found written on a piece of paper attached to one of the black cases, the report said.

A ball, deputies reported, is one-eighth of an ounce or 3.5 grams and a 10 sack of meth weighs in at around one-tenth of a gram.

Each of the four were charged with misdemeanor paraphernalia possession and four drug felonies: trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, and controlled substance possession.

In addition to those charges, Klos also had the two active contempt of court warrants. Bail for Klos: $279,261; Bail for Bohannan, McNeil and Hammers: $278,637 each.

The suspect driver was noted to display very red, watery eyes and exhibited slurred speech, the report said. His breath also had a strong smell of alcohol to it.

When asked what had happened, the suspect state he had left his house, then pulled over to use his phone and fell asleep.
