Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Monday morning to a single vehicle crash in the 1100 block of South Carson Street.

The call came into dispatch shortly before 8:30 a.m. and involves a single vehicle into a power pole. The driver of the vehicle was injured and a Care Flight air ambulance landed in the parking area of the Carson Mall, according to a Carson City Fire Department battalion chief on scene. Care Flight left for Renown Medical Center in Reno at 8:53 a.m.

One other person was taken to the hospital via ground ambulance. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The crash blocked a portion of South Carson Street. Traffic lanes were closed in the area to allow for the helicopter to land and, later, re-directed around the scene of the crash.

Carson City Public Works has been called to the area due to the amount of debris on the roadway.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
