'Art Outside!' presented in August by Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space
Join the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department in August for its new "Art Outside" series of interpretive programs.
These events call for all creative adventurers looking for free interpretive programs you might be interested in! Supplies are limited, so please search the name of the program and register at www.carson.org/ccpr

The first event is Paint-A-Park and will be held August 4, 2019, from 9 to 11 a.m.
This year, we'll set up our mini easels in Carson River Park and get acquainted with the beauty of the outdoors under a gallery of Cottonwood trees.
Registering will reserve you an easel, canvas, & brush. We'll have acrylic paint to share, but feel free to bring your own supplies. Please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water and sun protection. See you there!

Sunset Photo Hike

Dead Truck Canyon - meet at Silver Saddle Ranch
Join the Parks, Rec & Open Space Dept. on the first Interpretive Program devoted to nature photography! All skill levels are welcome as we hike the Dead Truck Canyon trail and learn different techniques to capture the beauty of Prison Hill at sunset.
Feel free to bring a phone, a digital camera, or film! And please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water & sun protection. See you there!

Sketch & Trek

Join the Parks, Rec & Open Space Dept. on the first Interpretive Program devoted to drawing and hiking. If you're a skilled artist or a novice, bring your sketchbook out to Kings Canyon and learn different techniques to be able to portray your the natural environment into a visual art.
Bring your own sketchbook and drawing utensil if you have it, but we will also have paper and pens for folks as well. Please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water & sun protection. See you there!

Nature Journaling 101

Join the Parks, Rec & Open Space Dept. on the first Interpretive Program devoted to Nature Journaling. Learn some simple tools that will help you take in your environment with intention and creativity as we hike along the Carson River at Riverview Park.
