Piper's Summer Masquerade Ball on Saturday in Virginia City
The thing about attending a masquerade ball is that you don't have to worry if you show up late because no one will ever know anyway.
With that in mind, you won't want to miss the Piper's Summer Masquerade Ball in Virginia City on Saturday, from 7 to 11 p.m. Organizers say this is a Mardi Gras-style ball so come in historical costumes, full mask optional. Dress up in crazy Elizabethan attire or come in ye olde Renaissance garb. Or if you prefer, there's the Civil War (just represent the good side, please), Victorian, Edwardian, etc. Live Music will be by the Mt. Rose Trio Band with Gus the Dance Master. The Piper's Opera House fundraiser includes appetizers and punch, and, well, it's Virginia City so there's libations all around too at the Corner Bar.
Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $18 per person ( adults only). Call Maureen at (775) 530-2925. The event is sponsored by a grant through the Nevada Commission On Tourism.
