Nevada program for those behind on rent has paid out around $2 million of its $60M allotment

Officials trying to get $60 million out the door by the end of the year on behalf of Nevadans who have fallen behind on rent have disbursed about $2 million so far, according to progress reports provided to a state housing committee.

A 48-year-old man was arrested early Thursday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI drugs, speeding and driving with a suspended license, a Carson City sheriff's report states.

Following the successful launch of V&T Railway's Carson City’s Carson Canyon Railbikes, the organization has announced a lineup of special event railbike tours for the remaining 2020 season. In addition to the standard Carson River Canyon tour, riders can expect extended hours, themed décor and added entertainment attractions.

Carson City, Quad area COVID-19 Wednesday update: 4 new cases, 2 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, August 26, 2020 that there are four new cases and two additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 967, with 869 recoveries and fifteen deaths, 83 cases remain active.

Recently there have been national complaints and reports of juveniles purchasing alcohol, using masks to conceal their identity. On August 25, 2020 the Carson City Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers, in conjunction with Partnership Carson City, conducted an alcohol compliance check.

August 23, 2020 (All day) Jim Sapien is the 2020 Sunday Men’s Club champion at Silver Oak Golf Course in Carson City. Sapien fired a 74-75 to best Dan Wilson by four strokes (77-76) during the two-day club championship Aug. 22-23. Brian Sweet (74-80) and Michael Moriarty (79-75) tied for third, while Scott Lusty was the low net (after handicap is applied) champion over the field with 141.
