Demonstrators gathered Saturday in front of the capitol and legislative building in Carson City to protest Trump administration policies and memorialize Renee Good, a woman who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minnesota this week.
The demonstration began at 11 a.m. and continues to 1 p.m. It is part of similar protests happening Saturday nationwide.

As of 11:30 a.m. the demonstration was peaceful and there were no problems. Among the demonstrators Saturday were a handful of pro-Trump administration counter protestors.

Among those attending the demonstration to protest Trump ICE policies was Carson City resident Beth Scott, who also owns a home in Minneapolis and visits her grandchildren there regularly. She said what happened this week was “devastating,” adding “the madness must stop.”
As in previous demonstrations in front of the capitol and legislative building, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office advises motorists going through downtown Carson City on Saturday may experience some delays near the capitol and legislative complex. Organizers are assisting people walking through the crosswalks.
