Taking first place in the Carson City Photo Club competition in May is "Egret in Flight" by MaryLou Schindler.

Going with a “Birds in Flight” theme, local photographers looked to the skies and around their environment to capture some impressive pictures of the feathered variety for this month’s Carson City Photo Club competition.

The Carson City Photo Club meets at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month, except December, at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Ormsby Room, 911 East Musser Street. All levels of photographers are welcome.

The theme for June is “Back Light.” Become a member of the Carson City Photo Club for only $15 per year and submit your 8×10 matted photo in the competition.  Go here for information.
