Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol has identified a 26-year-old California man who died in a fatal crash that happened Jan. 25 on I-80 in Churchill County.

Rahul Nogivenname, of Sacramento, Calif., died at the scene of the crash in the westbound lane of I-80, near mile marker 85 in Churchill County, according to Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol.

At 2:56 a.m., the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol responded to the crash. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Kenworth truck tractor with trailer, was traveling westbound on I-80 in the number two travel lane, approaching a prior crash involving a 2019 International truck tractor with trailer.

The 2019 International truck tractor with trailer was overturned with its trailer blocking the number one and two westbound travel lanes. The undercarriage of the overturned trailer was facing oncoming traffic. The 2019 Kenworth truck struck the overturned trailer, according to NHP.

The driver of the 2019 International sustained minor injuries. The driver of the 2019 Kenworth truck died, according to medical personnel at the scene.

The Nevada Highway Patrol Region Two (Northern Command) Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash.
