A 25-year-old woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child neglect, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to the 1800 Long Street for a report of a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter.
Officers met with the suspect, who was highly intoxicated with the smell of alcohol coming from her person. She had slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes. A CCSO sergeant also arrived on scene and began investigating. He advised to the deputy that a 3-year-old child in the apartment had been left alone for 30 minutes. The sergeant learned suspect left the child through interviews.
Inside the home deputies observed the apartment where she and other family members lived was dirty, with beer cans in the trash, a lighter on the floor and an accumulation of trash throughout the apartment, all within reach of the child. There was also several small items throughout the apartment the child could swallow, the report states.
Through the investigation, the suspect changed her story, saying she left the child in care of a sister. She became upset and uncompliant. She initially agreed to a preliminary breath test, but while the deputy attempted to obtain a PBT sample, the woman refused the test and became aggressive, the report states.
Officers learned she was intoxicated and had wanted to fight a family member, who then drove away. Neighbors were interviewed and they all said they heard a verbal argument.
She was arrested for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child neglect. Bail: $2,000.

— A 34-year-old man was arrested Friday for suspicion of being a pedestrian under the influence in the roadway. Bail: $87.
— A Carson City woman was booked Friday for a gross misdemeanor warrant alleging battery on a protected person. The warrant was issued Dec. 24, 2024 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI.
According to the booking report, deputies responded at 3:20 a.m. to the 600 block of College Parkway for a report of a vehicle accident.
A deputy arrived and observed a pickup had drove through a fence and hit two other vehicles. The deputy exited their patrol vehicle, with the woman standing outside the truck. She said “take me to jail.”
The woman swayed back and forth on her feet while trying to walk and also while standing still. She had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person and had heavily slurred speech and red, watery eyes, the report states.
The deputy asked the woman if she was driving the truck and she said “yes.” She was asked and she agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She showed signs of impairment on the tests. She provided a preliminary breath test of .155 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail, she provided breath samples of .167 and .170. Bail: $1,137.
— A 35-year-old Washoe Valley woman, Emily Lynn Ray, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor suspended registration. Bail: $2,500.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of East Fork Justice Court. Bail: $1,078.
— A 63-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of trespassing, not amounting to burglary. According to the booking report, the woman had been previously trespassed from a John Street business and was causing a disturbance. She was asked to leave by multiple employees and cursed at employees and customers. Bail: $1,137.
— A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday for alleged driving without a valid license, no registration, no insurance, open container and a child safety restraint violation. Bail: $600.
— A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy made contact with the driver following a vehicle stop.
The man agreed to voluntarily conduct field sobriety tests. The deputy observed the man to be unsteady on his feet. The deputy observed the man to have red, watery eyes, thick and slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath.
During the tests, the man showed clues of impairment. He refused to provide a preliminary breath test. Based on the totality of circumstances, the man was booked for suspected driving under the influence. The officer contacted a Carson City judge, who granted a warrant for a blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
