Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol has identified two men from Sparks who died in a Nov. 26 crash on US-395A in Washoe County that involved a motorhome and a Land Rover.

Both occupants of the Land Rover, the driver, Michael Sullivan, 59, and passenger, Joseph Sullivan, 70, died at the scene of the crash, according to NHP in a news release. Both had recently relocated to Sparks.


The driver of the motorhome remained on the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors at this time, according NHP.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at approximately 3:28 p.m., NHP responded to the crash at US-395A and West Laramie Drive.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the 2015 Land Rover was traveling eastbound on West Laramie Drive, attempting to make a left-hand turn from a stop sign onto US-395A.

A 2005 Roadmaster Rail motorhome was traveling southbound on US-395A in the number two travel lane. For reasons not confirmed at this time, the driver of the Land Rover failed to yield the right way while attempting a left turn and entered the path of the motorhome. The front of the motorhome struck the left side of the Land Rover, according to the release.

Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash.
