The Northern Nevada Dream Center is excited to announce the launch of “Misfit Fridays,” a new monthly sober social night designed to bring people together in a safe, welcoming environment rooted in recovery, connection, and fun.
Held on the second Friday of every month at 6 p.m. starting April 10, Misfit Fridays offers a space for individuals and families of all ages to gather for games, snacks, and meaningful community—without the presence of drugs or alcohol.
This new initiative is an extension of the Dream Center’s New Life Recovery 12-Step Program, which provides ongoing support for individuals seeking freedom from addiction. By combining the principles of recovery with positive social engagement, Misfit Fridays helps participants build healthy relationships, reduce isolation, and strengthen their recovery journey.
“Recovery doesn’t just happen in meetings—it happens in community,” said Summer Wilson, at the Northern Nevada Dream Center. “Through our New Life Recovery program, we’ve seen how important connection is. Misfit Fridays creates a place where people can laugh, relax, and belong—without pressure or substances.”
The New Life Recovery program follows a 12-step model that emphasizes personal growth, accountability, and spiritual renewal. Weekly meetings are held at the Dream Center on Wednesdays at noon and Saturday evenings at 6 pm. Participants are encouraged not only to attend meetings, but also to build a supportive lifestyle—something Misfit Fridays directly supports.
