The North Lyon County Fire Protection District has requested Lyon County Office of Emergency Management to issue an advisory to Fernley residents due to smoke in the area.
The Truckee Fire is generating substantial smoke and has been and will continue to blanket the Fernley area, said Lyon County Manager Jeff Page. People with respiratory problems should stay indoors and out of the smoke.
They should consult with their health care provider if they are having any ill effects from the smoke and should contact their medical/oxygen equipment supplier to ensure they have sufficient supplies for the next several days.
