The Friends of the Carson City Library are helping fight hunger in the Carson City community with their “Christmas in July” Food Drive to benefit the Ron Wood Family Resource Center. The food drive began Monday, July 13 and ends today, Saturday, July 25.
Community members can bring a donation of canned or packaged food to the Browsers Book Store at 711 East Washington Street. Browsers is accepting food until 6 p.m. With every donation, you can receive a free Christmas book of your choice and a coupon for $1 off of a purchase in the book store.
Browsers is particularly looking for staples like tuna, pastas and sauces, soups, canned meats, peanut butter, canned vegetables, beans and fruit.
