There’s a slight chance of snow showers this last day of 2015 for the Carson City region, but nothing in the way of anything bringing accumulation, according to the weather service.
The low tonight will be around 10 degrees. New Year’s Day will be chilly, with a high of 24 and a low of 8, with Saturday bringing mostly sunny skies, but still very chilly with a high of 27 and a low of 15. Sunday and Monday will warm up some, with highs in the mid 30s to 40.
The next weather system could move into the region as early as Monday night, bringing chances of rain and snow. The Sierra could pick up “significant snow and water equivalent which would certainly help our snowpack but individual 6 to 12 hour periods do not look overly heavy,” according to the weather service. Snow levels could waver in the lower valleys but many areas should see mostly snow.
