UPDATE: Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi said the gas leak early Friday night was likely a gas truck that was mobile in the area and making deliveries. Douglas County fire agencies also received calls to dispatch regarding the smell from other points in the area.
He said mobile gas trucks sometimes emit odors after deliveries or if there is pressure build-up in tanks some gas will be released.
