Members of the Downtown Coin Club of Carson City delivered ten frozen turkeys to the Douglas County Senior Center in Gardnerville Friday, partnering with the local Meals On Wheels program to supply needy seniors with a turkey dinner this Thanksgiving.

Friday’s donation was the first of two planned by the Downtown Coin Club, said club president Dan Wilson.

“We have had a great year and would like to pass on the good will,” he said. “Our goal is to have locals enjoy a turkey dinner that they may not otherwise.”

A second donation will be made close to Christmas to the Dream Center in Carson City, Wilson said.

The Dream Center assists local military veterans in need, he said.
