The Minden Youth Aviation Adventure, sponsored by the Sports Aviation Foundation, drew a sizable group of Boy Scouts to the Minden-Tahoe Airport last weekend.

More than 70 Scouts attended while dozens more were turned away due to capacity limits.

The adventure was one more activity presented by Nevada Area Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Star of the weekend was the Army Air Guard’s Blackhawk Helicopter. Gliders and other small aircraft were also available for Scouts to see.

Minden Youth Aviation Adventure was presented to introduce youths ages 12-17 to the world of aviation, aviation and weather-related careers first-hand and in action. The event also featured classroom work, enabling Scouts to satisfy BSA’s Aviation Merit Badge requirement.
