Every month, the Park Rangers offer various Ranger-Led programs that include educational opportunities, historical fun, and exciting adventures. All programs are offered for free and take place in one of the many Carson City parks and open space areas.
Online Registration is often required so Park Rangers have a proper head count. All programs are subject to cancellation due to Park Ranger availability; registered participants will be notified. Read with a Ranger in the Park
Join the Park Rangers and the Carson City Library at John Mankins Read with a Ranger in the Park, happening every second Friday from 11:00am-12:00pm. The event is for kids of all ages. This month we will be reading about squirrels!

Jr Park Ranger Adventures Presents – Painting in the Park
Join the Carson City Park Rangers for our next Jr. Park Ranger Adventure Series – Painting in the Park! From the Cottonwood tree gallery to the open pasture fields, let Carson River Park spark your creativity during this outdoor art adventure. Mini easels, canvases, acrylic paint, and brushes will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite supplies. We will meet at the Carson River Park Pavilion where Park Rangers will set up the art supplies. Make sure to dress for the weather, bring plenty of water and snacks.
