A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to a Concord Drive address at 12:32 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the victim who said her boyfriend came home intoxicated, threw her out of the bed, attempted to strange her, grabbed her upper body area and then hit her on the left side of the face. Deputies could see fresh bruising around her upper chest area and right arm, according to the arrest report.

A deputy then spoke with the man who said the couple were arguing and that the victim bit his left arm. The officer asked if he grabbed the woman and the man replied he had not, which was not consistent with the fresh bruises on the woman. The man told the officer to “go ahead and take me to jail,” according to the arrest report. Bail: $3,137.

In a separate incident, a 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:36 a.m. in the 100 block of Corbett Street on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area and heard arguing coming from an apartment. A deputy went to the front door and saw it was open and found the suspect on the couch with multiple beer cans on the table.

The residence was a mess with movie cases on the ground and a knocked over planter that left dirt in the kitchen and living room. The officer made contact with the victim, who said she was the man’s girlfriend.

The officer asked the man what happened and he said he did not know. The officer asked him why there were items knocked all over the residence and the man replied that he did not know, the arrest report states. He was highly intoxicated with slurred speech, red watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol. The man asked the officer why he was there. The deputy replied he was there because people nearby heard arguing inside the residence. The officer again asked what happened and the man replied he did not know.

The deputy then spoke with the victim who said the man came into the bedroom while she was trying to sleep, jumped on her and hit her. The woman told the officer she had to kick him off the bed and hit him to get away. The officer observed the woman’s right hand where the knuckle had appeared swollen. The woman said she and the man had been arguing for a couple hours before it got physical.

The officer again asked the man what happened. He again said he didn’t know anything. Due to signs of a struggle inside the home and the injury to the woman, the officer placed the man into custody on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
