Multiple agencies joined together at the Carson City Courthouse on Saturday afternoon to run through multiple active shooter scenarios.
Law enforcement and first responders had to work with a dangerous shooter, gunshot victims, clearing civilians, and hostage negotiations, which are all done in order to better perfect their response time and communication, if a real active shooter situation were to occur.
The scenarios were as realistic as possible, with the shooter using a real gun (with blanks), victims had bleeding bullet holes made with make up and putty, and victims screamed and called for help. One victim in particular, the “panicky victim,” did a disturbingly convincing job at being injured and asking for help.
