
A 59-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for a felony warrant alleging sexual assault against a child, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Javier Barajas-Rodriguez, listed from Carson City, was arrested on South Carson Street. The warrant was issued Sept. 30. The suspect was taken into custody.
The warrant is for the charge of sexual assault against a child under the age of 14 years. Bail: $300,000.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old man was arrested Oct. 5 for suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Mila Blummar Dunn, listed from Reno, was taken into custody following an investigation. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a motel in the 1300 block of North Carson Street in reference to a stolen vehicle.
Dispatch received information that the victim’s stolen vehicle may be located at the motel. The vehicle was reported stolen with the Reno Police Department on Oct. 4.
Deputies located the vehicle and confirmed it was reported stolen. The suspect was later located and taken into custody. Through the investigation, officers learned that at no time did the suspect have permission to take the vehicle. The victim said they did not known how the suspect got the vehicle. Bail: $15,000.
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Oct. 6 for misdemeanor suspicion of elder abuse. According to the booking report, the man made verbal threats against his 73-year-old mother, saying he was going to stab her in the neck and kill her.
Among other things, the man also allegedly yelled at the woman, called her vulgar names and threatened to punch her.
Officers interviewed the suspect, who was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He confirmed he threatened to stab his mother, telling the officer he has low self-esteem and feels bad about his current situation in life. He also admitted to calling his mother names, that he got into her face and threatened to punch her.
Officers spoke with the victim, who was upset and shaking. A deputy explained how she could obtain a protection order against her son. Bail: $2,500.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Oct. 5 for misdemeanor suspicion of drug paraphernalia and littering. Bail: $1,774.
— A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Oct. 6 for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 25-year-old Las Vegas man was arrested Oct. 6 for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a temporarily protection order. Bail: $3,137.
— A 25-year-old woman was arrested Oct. 1 for suspicion of felony domestic battery with substantial bodily harm, according to a Carson City sheriff’s office booking report.
Emily Rose Holt was taken into custody following an investigation into the incident. Also booked was the woman’s husband for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
According to the booking report, the husband was treated for a knife wound to the face and was cleared by Carson City paramedics.
The woman told deputies the two were in an argument, and that her husband picked her up and dragged her down the hallway. The woman told deputies that that the man pushed her into the kitchen counter and pinned her against it. She told officers she picked up the knife and swung at the man to defend herself. She told a deputy that after she had stabbed the man, she got scared and left with her friend.
Due to the injury to the man’s face, the woman was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery with substantial bodily harm. Bail: $15,000. The man was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery due to marks on the woman that were not there before when deputies were there earlier, according to the report. Bail: $3,000.
