A 36-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, wrong way driving and having an open container, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

According to the booking report deputies responded to a report of a man tugging on doors of a business, trying to break in but never getting inside.

Deputies located the man who had slurred speech and red, watery eyes. After further investigation, and speaking with the business, they advised they did not want to press charges. He was let go and no longer detained.

Later, a sergeant advised seeing the same man climbing into a car and preparing to drive. When the vehicle was in motion, it was traveling the wrong way on Telegraph between North Curry and North Carson Street. The sergeant conducted a traffic stop on North Carson and East William Street.

Another officer arrived on the scene, and observed it was the subject he dealt with prior. He had messy clothes, red, watery eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath and had slurred, rambling speech. The man was asked to step out of the car. He put chewing tobacco in his mouth in which a deputy told him to spit it out.

Later officers found open containers of alcohol in the vehicle during a vehicle inventory.

He consented to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He refused to blow into the preliminary breath test. Based on observations, he was arrested for suspicion of DUI. The man consented to an evidentiary blood draw. Bail: $1,416.

In other arrests:
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI. According to the booking report, deputies responded to a vehicle that appeared to be involved in an accident. Deputies located the driver.

He told deputies he was driving east, swerved to the right and collided with the mountain, causing a flat tire. During contact with the man, deputies observed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his person and that he could not maintain balance, swaying side to side.

The man was asked if he had been drinking and he replied yes. The man agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment.

He provided a preliminary breath tests of .246 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He consented to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $1,137.

— A 31-year-old man was arrested Friday for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000 cash.

— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $1,000 cash.

— A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for a contempt of court warrant, failure to comply. Bail $500.
