
A 41-year-old man was arrested Monday for two counts alleged assault on hospital staff, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report. Both are gross misdemeanor offenses.
A 3:45 p.m. Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Carson Tahoe Hospital after medical staff advised the man was becoming increasingly agitated, the report states.
Deputies arrived on scene and learned the man was at the hospital due to his high intoxication level. While there, he became aggressive with with staff and security, “throwing punches” and blood at staff members, the report states. Hospital staff advised they wished to press charges.
Deputies attempted to arrest the man, who resisted. He was given verbal commands and he was ultimately handcuffed. He was taken to jail, where he continued to be vulgar and uncooperative, the report states. In addition to the two counts of assault on a protected person, he was also booked for misdemeanor obstructing and resisting. Bail: $6,137.
