Carson City, Nev. (July 23, 2025) — The Carson City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sara Casacca as the new vice principal at Mark Twain Elementary School.

Casacca has served as a teacher and educational professional for nearly 20 years and brings a wealth of educational expertise to Carson City including areas of school management, family engagement, mentoring and coaching, student discipline and behavior management and much more.

She most recently served as the dean of students (2022-2025) and kindergarten teacher (2015-2022) for Rita Cannan Elementary School in Reno.

Casacca was also a pre-kindergarten teacher (2008-2015) at Caughlin Preschool.

She earned a master’s in educational administration and leadership (2019) from Sierra Nevada College and a bachelor’s in education from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has also led various school-wide initiatives and served as a team member and facilitator for numerous educational teams and committees.
