A 48-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At around 2 p.m. deputies were called to the corner of Burton and North Fall Street for a report of domestic battery. Deputies arrived and met with the reporting party from across the street from where the incident took place.
A deputy spoke with the victim who stated his mother had relapsed and starting drinking alcohol again. The victim stated he and his mother got into a verbal argument and she began throwing things in the apartment. He stated his mother threw an object at the window, breaking the window. The deputy asked the victim if the argument ever got physical.
The victim stated his mother tried to grab his phone out of his hands, scratching him on his right bicep and then pushed him. The injured appeared to be a scratch that looked raised as if it just happened, according to the report. The victim stated that is when he left the residence and other family members advised him to call the sheriff’s office.
The deputy knocked on the door of the residence and could hear the mother screaming inside, asking the deputy what they wanted. The deputy asked the woman if she would step outside to speak. She told the deputy to come inside the residence. The officer opened the door and observed the woman sitting on the couch in the living room with a bottle of vodka in her lap, the report states.
The deputy asked her to explain what happened. She stated they were in a verbal argument about a family member. The deputy kept trying to ask her questions regarding the domestic battery but she kept repeating that she wanted to go to rehab, the report states.
The deputy asked if she tried to grab her son’s phone out of his hand and she stated that she did try to grab the phone. The deputy asked her if she might have scratched her son when she tried to retrieve the phone. She replied yes and began crying, the report states.
She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. She provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .220. Bail: $3,137.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was booked Tuesday for a misdemeanor bench warrant issued by Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 7 for two misdemeanor warrants, one issued out of Carson City Justice Court and the other out of Storey County. Bail: $2,870 cash.
