A 42-year-old man accused of kidnapping his 5-year-old daughter that prompted a May 31 AMBER Alert is now in custody at Carson City jail, according to a sheriff’s office booking report.
Christopher James Meithof was booked June 19 into Carson City Jail. He is being held with a $1 million bail amount.
Meithof was brought to Carson City Jail via a transportation officer from Los Angeles County Jail. He was booked for the outstanding warrant for kidnapping a minor in the first degree. He also has a second outstanding warrant from Oregon Parole and Probation with a no-bail hold.
On May 31 the girl’s mother told Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies that suspect Meithof took their 5-year-old daughter after discovering both were gone when she woke up that morning.
This led to a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Fugitive Task Force, the Homeland Security Investigations Los Angeles Division and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Bureau.
The LA County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop June 1 in Palmdale, Calif., where the 5-year-old girl was found safe and unharmed. Suspect Meithof was located and arrested.

— A felony fugitive from justice suspect, Jenae Isadora Bosma, was arrested June 19 after being located in Carson City by a CCSO deputy conducting a traffic stop in which she was a passenger in a vehicle.
The suspect had a confirmed felony warrant out of Santa Clara County, Calif., for alleged grand theft, vandalism and second degree burglary. Bail: $20,000.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man, Chris Miller, was arrested June 19 for suspicion of felony battery with use of a deadly weapon. According to the booking report, a deputy responded to a residence for a report of a battery involving a cup. A deputy spoke with the victim who said he was in the living room talking on the phone when the suspect started punching him. The victim said he had to put him in a chokehold to get him to stop.
While speaking with the victim, the deputy observed multiple injuries including dried blood dripping down the side of his left cheek. The deputy observed a cut on the head, which is where the blood was coming from. The deputy also observed scratch marks on the right side of his neck. He then showed the deputy another cut on his left elbow. The deputy located a black cup with a broken handle inside the living room on the floor, the report states.
The deputy made contact with the suspect outside the residence where he told the deputy he “snapped” and got mad at the victim. He stated that he was mad that the victim had the phone for too long. He stated he enter the living room and began to hit the victim. The man was arrested for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon. Bail: $20,000.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 18 for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, at 11:07 a.m. deputies were called to a Hot Springs Road address for a possible domestic battery.
Deputies met with the victim, who was sitting by a park close to the residence. She said she and her husband got into a verbal dispute. She said she started recording the dispute and had her phone under her armpit. She told the deputy that the man began reaching for her phone and grabbed her arm trying to retrieve the phone. She showed the deputy where her husband grabbed her. She had small bruises on her arm, the report states.
The victim informed the deputy that she pushed off her husband and went outside with her kids. She stated that once he got a hold of the phone, he went outside with it and later placed it back inside the residence, the report states.
Deputies interviewed the man, who stated they were having a verbal dispute and saying mean things to each other. He stated that he had something to say to his wife that made her mad and that she ended up grabbing him and grabbing his shirt. He denied ever trying to reach for the phone, the report states.
A deputy spoke with a 13-year-old male juvenile who witnessed the incident and mention the man was trying to grab the phone and then later going outside with the phone after successfully retrieving it and stated the man went back inside and left the phone inside the residence.
The man was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 18 for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Storey County Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 30-year-old Reno man was arrested June 18 for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant out of Storey County and driving on a revoked license. Bail: $1,000.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Monday at 2:08 a.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of parole and probation conditions. Bail: $3,000.
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging contempt of court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, driving with a suspended license and evading, eluding or failure to stop for a police officer.
According to a booking report, a deputy patrolling the area of Fairview and I-580 observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy paced the motorcycle going 80 mph in a posted 55 mph zone.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop as the motorcycle turned onto South Carson Street. The motorcycle accelerated at a high rate of speed continuing northbound on South Carson Street. The motorcyclist then made a turn onto East Roventini Way to travel eastbound and then slowed before stopping on Clearview.
The man was detained due to failing to yield. The deputy could smell an odor of alcohol coming from his person. The man freely and willing submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .192 and was arrested. He agreed to an evidentiary test, choosing a breath sample. He provided results of .113 and .108. Bail: $4,118.
— A 19-year-old Mound House man was arrested June 19 for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Carson Township Municipal Court. Bail: $515 cash.
— A 33-year-old Reno man was arrested June 20 for suspicion of DUI and violation of conditions of suspended sentence.
According to the report, a deputy was called to Cochise Street for a possible drunk driver. Dispatch advised the reporting party said the suspect vehicle hit a pole, ran over a curb and observed they saw a bottle of alcohol in the passenger seat.
The suspect driver was located. The man said he was going to a fast food restaurant to get food. He admitted to hitting a pole while in the drive-thru and then parked his vehicle in the parking lot. The deputy asked if he had any alcohol to drink. The man admitted he did, stating he had “two 99 shooters,” the report states.
The driver agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .169 and was arrested. He provided two evidentiary tests with results of .156 and .153. Dispatch advised Department of Alternative Sentencing wanted to place a hold on him for violation of conditions. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 20 for suspicion of misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order for domestic violence, contempt of court, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 20 for suspicion of misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order for domestic violence, a misdemeanor violation of conditions warrant and contempt of court. Bail: $6,000 cash. A 33-year-old man was also arrested for misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order and a pretrial violation. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 42-year-old Reno man was arrested June 20 for suspicion of driving with a non-Nevada license while driving with privileges revoked or suspended in Nevada and operating a vehicle with expired registration. Bail: $1,255.
— A 41-year-old Sparks man was arrested June 20 for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 19 for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, at around 7:32 p.m. a deputy patrolling the area of Stewart and William observed a vehicle traveling approximately 45-60 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.
The deputy observed the driver of the vehicle make a right turn onto East William Street, approaching William and Roop, stopping at the red light. Once the light turned green, the driver of the vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed, the report states.
The deputy activated their light and sirens, conducting a traffic stop. As the deputy was speaking to the driver, the deputy asked him several times for his insurance. The driver tried to provide the deputy with an insurance receipt. The man was asked if he had anything to drink. He replied two beers. The deputy asked for the insurance information. The man grabbed his phone and attempted to log in. He was unable to provide insurance. He was asked to step out of the vehicle.
The man had an ace bandage on his knee and explained that it was from a car accident and that he recently had surgery. The deputy asked him if he would consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test. The man advised he would. Based on the medical issues, he did not have to perform the one leg stand or the 9 step walk and turn. He provided a preliminary breath test of .110 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He agreed to evidentiary breath tests, with results of .103 and .114. Bail: $1,137.
— A 35-year-old Sparks woman as arrested June 19 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant for failure to appear. Bail: $3,000.
