A Lyon County Sheriff’s Office sergeant confirmed that a Silver Springs man reported missing and vulnerable on Tuesday was found safe and is being assessed by medical personnel. He was located within the search area range in the Silver Springs area.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing vulnerable adult, 82-year-old Silver Springs resident Christopher Butterworth.
Mr. Butterworth was last seen between approximately 08:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. today near his residence at 5205 Peak Ave in Silver Springs. Mr. Butterworth is described as:
• 82 years old
• Approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall
• White hair
• Blue eyes
He was last seen wearing:
• Kaki Pants
• Blue or Green shirt
• Tennis Shoes
Mr. Butterworth suffers from dementia and is diabetic. Due to his medical condition, there is significant concern for his safety and well-being.
Deputies and Search and Rescue personnel are actively attempting to locate Mr. Butterworth. Anyone who has seen him or has information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office immediately at (775) 463-6620.
If you believe you have located Mr. Butterworth, please call law enforcement and do not attempt to transport him yourself.
