DAYTON, Nev. –Learn about some of the birds that call Dayton State Park home! Take a ranger-led walk through the cottonwood gallery next to the Carson River to observe a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.

A basic birdwatching event will be taking place Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Dayton State Park.

This even to the public and is sponsored by Dayton State Park.

This is an easy walk along the river, approximately one mile long. Participants should bring water and sun protection, dress in layers for the weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Depending on insect activity, we may need head nets in addition to insect repellent.

The park has a limited supply of head nets available to borrow if necessary.

To attend, meet at the park entrance across the highway from the Gold Ranch Casino.

Dayton is located 12 miles east of Carson City, NV on US Highway 50.

No additional fee is required beyond the standard park entrance fees: $5.00 per vehicle (Non-NV Vehicles $10.00 per vehicle)
