For those who are new to our city and have enjoyed baseball since the 80’s, you may recognize the names of our hometown / homegrown players who will be at Governor’s Field in Carson City this Wednesday evening, May 13 to meet and greet baseball fans and hear the stories of their interesting journey on their road to the majors and learn what they are doing today.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m., fans will have the opportunity to meet former major leaguers Bob Ayrault, Charlie Kerfeld, Darrell Rasner, and Matt Williams and to have them sign autographs. The first 100 kids between the ages of 4-16 will receive a souvenir baseball cap. Free Flocchini hots dogs will be served by Kiwanis of Carson City and the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

The Chamber’s Leadership Class of 2026 will officially dedicate their class project to upgrade the gathering area near the concession stand. The ribbon cutting will be around 5 pm. Two new art murals created by Reno artist Erik Burke will be featured.

At around 6 pm, after a brief ceremony to award the Class of ’26 with their graduation certificates, former CHS Coach Ron McNutt will tell of his days as the coach of so many great players. Following his talk, there will be an informal Q&A session with the players and their coach.

The community event is free and brought to you by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to seeing you at Governor’s Field!
