Come kick off May Bike Month with the Tour of Carson. This year, the Tour of Carson will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025. Riders will start and end at Shoe Tree, 1496 Old Hot Springs Rd, Carson City.

Shoe Tree will open at 12 p.m. for riders to come back and enjoy a beer or two. This year, Muscle Powered is looking to have food catered for the event. We need to finalize total number of participants by April 25, 2025. Make sure to register by 5 p.m. that day to be accounted for in the catering order. 

If you miss the registration deadline, we will not be able to order enough food to account for late registrants. Suggested donation of $10 for the food.

Route Description: 

This 27-mile paved route was first established by Denis Coyne, owner of Bike Habitat. In 2023, he graciously handed this popular and beloved event to Muscle Powered, and we are excited to continue his tradition. 

Although both the start and finish will be at Shoe Tree, the route will remain relatively unchanged. For those of you new to the Tour of Carson, this ride takes riders (e-bikes permitted) on a stunning excursion around Carson City. Join other road bike enthusiasts as you traverse from north to south, east to west, on a 27-mile ride with approximately 1,223 ft. of elevation gain. 

This event is not a race and is viewed as a group ride. We encourage helmets, as you will be on roads for 90 percent of the ride. The remaining 10 percent will be on Carson City’s multi-use paths. In addition to helmets, riders should wear bright neon clothing and have bike lights on both the front and back of your bike. Bikes also should be in safe working order.

The course will be marked with a series of directional yellow dots. 

One dot= Continue Forward

Two dots=Turn Right

Three dots=Turn Left

This is a self-supported ride. Any rider who gets a flat or has issues with their bikes will be responsible for getting back to the starting point. Other riders may have basic tools if needed. 

Individuals can use a Strava route to navigate the course.

For those of you participating in this year’s May Bike Month Bingo, Tour of Carson is a tile! Bingo participants must complete a row, column or diagonal to be entered into the raffle. We will be hosting a gathering Friday, May 16 for the prize drawing. We will email bingo participants with the location and time.
