UPDATE: Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire Saturday afternoon off of US-395 near Topaz Lake south of Monitor Pass Hwy/CA-89 junction in Mono County, Calif. An evacuation warning for the California side was issued at 3:42 p.m.

An evacuation warning has been issued for the yellow-shaded area of this map. This is a warning only for people in the area to be prepared to leave if conditions worsen.

Agencies responding to the Slink Fire include East Fork Fire in Douglas County, the BLM and nearby Mono County fire agencies. Additional resources have been requested by BLM Incident Command. There is also an air attack on the fire.

As of 3 p.m. flames have pushed the fire to 75 acres with zero percent containment, according to The National Interagency Fire Center, via Watch Duty.

CHP urges motorists to use caution traveling along US-395 in the Topaz area due to the fire. Emergency personnel are in the area and one-lane controlled traffic control is being enforced. Visit https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov for traffic information.
