The Carson City School District recently hosted two admission-free music events, Band-O-Rama held March 20 and Choirpalooza held March 27, which celebrated instrumental and music education throughout the district and featured bands and choirs from all age levels, including elementary, middle and high school.

Drawing in a large and enthusiastic audience of proud parents, teachers and community members, the concerts showcased the year’s culmination of refined skill and talent.

It was estimated Choirpalooza hosted more than 500 performers including vocalist and singers from elementary, middle and high school while Band-O-Rama including the Carson High Wind Ensemble and Concert Band saw as many as 600 instrumentalists in grades 5-12. The Carson High Jazz band also provided pre-concert music.

The two concerts are a true celebration of the students’ hard work and devotion throughout the school year and a fitting tribute to the many hours of practice and rehearsals each student has dedicated to their instrument and musical craft. Band-O-Rama and Choirpalooza are the pinnacle of effort and training and serve as a testament to the power of music education to inspire and uplift young minds.
