The slider storm that brought as much as 11 inches of snow to some areas of Western Nevada early Monday and two inches to Carson City has also brought cold temperatures with it, prompting the National Weather Service to warn of icy roads Monday night into Tuesday.

For Monday night around Carson City, there may be some scattered snow showers, mainly before 11 p.m. with mostly cloudy skies and a low temperatures of around 28. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

In areas of western Nevada where heavy snowfall occurred Monday, melting snow and ice may refreeze overnight into Tuesday morning, creating slick, icy conditions along some secondary roads. The weather service advises motorists to take it slow while driving on ice and snow.

For Tuesday, there’s a 30 percent chance of snow showers with a high near 46. Little or no snow accumulation expected. On Wednesday there’s aslight chance of rain and snow showers but then warming up later with a high near 51. Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 60s.
